Stories of Courage. Stories of Friendship. Stories of Champions.

Welcome to the World of Beth Watter

Some stories are written simply to entertain. Others are written because someone has lived through challenges that deserve to be shared.

Beth Watter writes stories about courage, friendship, perseverance, inclusion, and the power of believing in yourself. Her books Champions, We Are and The Making of Champions invite young readers, families, educators, and communities to look beyond limitations and discover what it truly means to be a champion.

Because being a champion isn't only about winning.

  1. It's about getting back up.
  2. It's about believing in yourself when the road becomes difficult.
  3. It's about having the courage to dream.
  4. And sometimes, it's about reaching back and helping someone else rise with you.

About Beth Watter

A Writer Inspired by Courage, Family, and Perseverance

Beth Watter is an author whose writing is deeply connected to family, resilience, inclusion, and the everyday courage it takes to face life's challenges.

Her work is inspired in large part by the journey of her son, Nik, whose experiences helped shape the characters, situations, and themes found throughout her books.

Rather than presenting challenges as the end of a person's story, Beth writes about what can happen when people are surrounded by friendship, family, encouragement, and opportunity.

Her stories ask an important question: What does it really mean to be a champion?

  • A champion can be someone who keeps trying.
  • A champion can be someone who learns to believe in themselves.
  • A champion can be a friend who refuses to leave someone behind.
  • A champion can be a parent who keeps believing when the road becomes difficult.
  • And a champion can be a community that chooses inclusion rather than exclusion.

The Making of Champions

What Does It Really Take to Become a Champion?

A story set around Ironwood Springs Sports Camp, where Nik and his friends discover that champions are not defined simply by trophies, victories, or physical ability. Through races, challenges, friendship, and moments of doubt, they discover that true strength comes from within, and that lifting others up can be its own kind of victory.

The Inspiration Behind the Books

When Life Becomes the Inspiration

Some stories begin with imagination. Others begin with life itself.

For Beth Watter, the inspiration behind her books grew from her family's experiences and particularly from watching her son Nik navigate challenges, develop his strengths, build friendships, and pursue his dreams.

Nik's journey helped Beth see that a disability or physical challenge does not tell the whole story of a person.

  • With ambitions.
  • With a future.
